When I unpacked this product I let it air out for a few days, but didn't really need to as there was no off-putting smell. My husband looked at it and worried we'd be too hot with this but I haven't felt hot at all, it seems to truthfully be temperature regulating (it is August in Vancouver). I did worry that the other materials seemed quite synthetic, like the stretchy material that goes around the outside edge of the matters and even the underside of the wool top. However, when it is on the bed, all of that is hidden and has no impact. I bought the king size and it fits my mattress perfectly. It is nice and soft to sleep on. I cannot say how it will hold up over time, i.e. pack down under both bodies. But apparently you can "comb it out" to remedy that, although I'm not sure how to do that. I'll cross that bridge if/when I get to it LOL. Thank you, this is a nice product so far.
