Keeps you warm during the night. I'm not seeing any discomfort with arthritis though some people have said it helped but we are all made differently and that's ok. I use it under my sheets as I've discovered I'm allergic to wool and gave me a rash. I still give it a 5 due to the fact that it is a very nice piece of skin.
